Tiled View: How to see everyone in Google Meet

Want to see everyone in your Google Meet call? The app has a specific view for that called the Tiled View. Here’s how you can enable Tiled View for Google Meet.

💡 TL;DR:
  • Tiled View is a native Google Meet feature that shows all participants at the same time.
  • Tiled View works similarly to Zoom’s gallery view.
  • You’ll be able to see up to 49 participants at a time.

Much like Zoom’s Gallery View, Google Meet’s Tiled View is used to show every participant in the call on the same screen. This is especially useful for standups, town halls, and other meetings where your team showing up is important.

Here’s how to enable Tiled View in Google Meet.

How to see everybody in Google Meet

To show everyone in the call on the same screen, you want to go to your Settings.

By default, your View will be set to Auto. In order to change this, go to Settings > Change view.

This will bring up a selection of Views, you can choose from: Auto, Tiled, Spotlight, and Sidebar. Each view can work for certain situations, but for right now we’re interested in the Tiled view, so select Tiled.

The Auto and Tiled Views used to have a smaller maximum number of participants on one screen, but now they have 49 participants as the new limit—more than enough for small to medium-sized teems.

On the same popup, you’ll see a slider that indicates how many participants will appear on-screen. You can select your desired number up to 49.

And that’s it! By setting your layout to Tiled View, you’ll be able to see everyone in the meeting in Google Meet.

💡 TL;DR, in case you missed it the first time:
  • Tiled View is a native Google Meet feature that shows all participants at the same time.
  • Tiled View works similarly to Zoom’s gallery view.
  • You’ll be able to see up to 49 participants at a time.

The same process applies to mobile users. Google Meets is available in both Android and iOS.
