Earlier this year, Globe treated its subscribers in the Philippines to a free 6-month subscription to DisneyLife. Existing Globe At Home Postpaid customers who upgrade to Plan 1299 or higher, as well as new Globe At Home Postpaid customers with Plan 1299 or higher are eligible for 6 months free trial of DisneyLife. However, after the trial ends, you’re access to the DisneyLife app will be forfeited, and you’ll have to avail of the paid version to continue enjoying the app.
But in case you wish to cancel the subscription ahead of time to avoid any unexpected fees, here’s how to cancel your free DisneyLife Globe Postpaid or Globe At Home subscription:
How to Cancel DisneyLife subscription:
Option 1: Talk to “Gie”, Globe’s Facebook Messenger customer service.
You can try sending a message to “Gie” on Facebook Messenger, which I’m pretty sure is really just an intelligent bot designed to respond to Glove-related inquiries. To be fair, Gie is responsive even to my complex questions. See our conversation below:
However, Gie has been unhelpful, and wasn’t able to resolve my inquiry. At first, she asked me to send the keywords “DLIFE STOP” to 8080, but I only got a response that the keyword is invalid.
If you wish to give it a shot and chat with Gie, you may do so by sending a message to m.me/GieOfGlobe.
Option 2: Call the Globe hotline at (02) 730-1000
This would have been my last resort because calling Globe’s customer service usually takes a looooooong time. But since Gie was no help and I was desperate, I gave it a shot. Surprisingly, I got connected to a customer service representative in less than 10 minutes.
After verifying my account, the CSR was able to cancel my subscription in a jiffy! I also received a notification SMS, confirming that the request has been processed. I guess this just goes to show that in some services human interaction is still way better than machine-assisted processes!
