Everything you need to know about Google’s unified storage service.

The new product from mother Google is not exactly new. It’s more a repackaging of sorts. Dubbed as Google One, it’s a unified storage service that brings Drive, Photos, and Gmail all under one subscription plan.

Now, Google has taken the wraps off its new product to a number of countries, including the Philippines. On this post, we’re breaking down everything you need to know about Google One.

What is Google One?

As aforementioned, Google One unifies a number of already established services from Google. That includes Google Drive, the company’s staple cloud storage service against the likes of Dropbox and OneDrive; Gmail, the company’s email client; and Google Photos, the previously unlimited free photo storage Google service.

Google’s move is pretty bold, especially when you have a completely free service prior like Google Photos and adding it to a consolidated service. It’s worth noting that uncompressed photos and video storage remains free in Photos, but you can imagine how the move can leave some users confused. As for apps, there’s one available for Android users. Click here to install. At the time of this writing, Google has yet to release an iOS version of the Google One App.

Google One in the Philippines – Pricing, Plans, and more

One of the biggest pulls of Google One is the native ability to share your storage plan with family members. Users can make a family user group consisting of up to 6 members. That’s 5 extra users in your plan at no extra cost. Also worth noting: Family members won’t see any of the files you store unless you specifically share the file(s) with them.
